Battle of Drums
Experience the largest tropical party in Europe with the Summer Carnival! At least a million visitors visit this two-day Caribbean carnival every year, dancing to Latin music in the city centre of Rotterdam and looking at the colourful costumes and floats in the massive street parade!
The Summer Carnival starts on Friday with the Fernandes Battle of Drums. Four Brassbrands leave from four different locations and meet each other for the Battle on the Coolsingel. Over a hundred percussionists and trumpettists try to exceed in this musical battle. The winner will be announced as 'Best Brassband of Summer Carnival'.
On Saturday the big Street Parade emerges in the city centre.
