Koninginnedag (Queen's Day)

Queen's Day (Koninginnedag), a national holiday in the Netherlands, celebrates the birthday of the Queen of the Netherlands. Queen's Day is known for its flea markets all over the country, where everybody is allowed to sell things in the streets. In Rotterdam artists and bands will perform live on different stages throughout the city and there are shows and activities for all ages.

Whether you are going to relax on a terrace at Rotown, dance on Stadhuisplein or celebrate in one of the neighborhoods, the colour orange will be everywhere. For great bargains, stroll down one of the many flea markets that are located from the Coolsingel to the market on the Binnenrotte.
