Mataró model - Oldest shipmodel gives up secrets

The Rotterdam Maritime Museum’s world famous object is the so-called Mataró Model from the 15th century. This is the oldest known West European ship model. Following extensive research to its meaning, sailing properties, materials and age it can now once again be admired in the Maritime Museum Rotterdam where its extraordinary story will be told.
