Public transport chip card
You can travel unlimited on all metro, tram and bus lines of the RET public transport network using the chip card inside the Rotterdam Welcome Card guide. The card is not valid on the Night Bus (BOB-bus) and at other public transport companies. The public transport chip card is valid for 1, 2 or 3 consecutive days, depending on which type you choose.
The card is activated on the day that you first check in. A 1-day card allows you to travel on that same day until 4 am at night. A 2-day card allows you to travel on the day the card is activated and the next day. A 3-day card allows you to travel on the day the card is activated and the next two days. Please note: a 1-day card is not a travel pass for 24 hours, so you can’t travel from 11 am on day 1 till 11 am the next day. A 2-day card is not a travel pass for 48 hours and a 3-day card is not a travel pass for 72 hours.
Always check in and out, also when you transfer! Each of the discount vouchers in the guide shows how to get to an attraction, museum, restaurant or place of entertainment by RET metro, tram and/or bus.
The Rotterdam Welcome Card contains 50 discount vouchers of attractions, museums, restaurants and various places of entertainment, offering you 25% discount or more. To benefit from the discounts simply tear the vouchers off and hand them in at the locations you want to visit. On the fold-out city map at the back of the guide you can see which locations are close to each other and get the most out of your Rotterdam Welcome Card.
All vouchers offer a one-time discount valid for one person until 31 December 2014 (unless stated otherwise on the vouchers). The public transport chip card is valid until 31 December 2015 (once activated the card can be used for 1, 2 or 3 consecutive days).
