How does the Rotterdam Welcome Card work?

Public transport chip card

You can travel unlimited on all metro, tram and bus lines of the RET public transport network using the chip card inside the Rotterdam Welcome Card guide. Not valid on the route between Berkel Westpolder and Den Haag Central of metro line E and not valid on the Fast Ferry and at other public transport companies. The public transport chip card is valid for 1, 2 or 3 consecutive days, depending on which type you choose. The card is activated on the day that you first check in. A 1-day card allows you to travel on that same day. A 2-day card allows you to travel on the day the card is activated and the next day. A 3-day card allows you to travel on the day the card is activated and the next two days. Always check in and out, also when you transfer! Each of the discount vouchers in the guide shows how to get to an attraction, museum, restaurant or place of entertainment by RET metro, tram and/or bus.

Note: for travelling with metro, tram and bus in Rotterdam a chip card (‘OV-chipkaart’) is required.

Discount vouchers

The Rotterdam Welcome Card contains 50 discount vouchers of attractions, museums, restaurants and various places of entertainment, offering you 25% discount or more. To benefit from the discounts simply tear the vouchers off and hand them in at the locations you want to visit. On the fold-out city map at the back of the guide you can see which locations are close to each other and get the most out of your Rotterdam Welcome Card.

Validity

All vouchers offer a one-time discount valid for one person until 31 December 2013 (unless stated otherwise on the vouchers). The public transport chip card is also valid until 31 December 2013 (once activated the card can be used for 1, 2 or 3 consecutive days).
