The Slow Readers Club

Fans of Editors, Joy Division, Depeche Mode and Echo & The Bunnymen can blindly join The Slow Readers Club. Thanks to the angular rhythms, atmospheric synths and inky baritone of Aaron Sarkie, this band from Manchester floats through the same palate as the names already mentioned. In England The Slow Readers Club has become a real phenomenon: the album Build A Tower even reached number 20 in the national album charts. The expectations are therefore sky high for The Slow Readers Club to live up to its reputation as a new British sensation. Those expectations have already been met. The band previously shone at Metropolis 2019 with one of the best performances in the rich history of the Rotterdam open air festival.


Rotown is a café, restaurant and pop stage all in one. In 2020 it was chosen aa the best popstage in The Netherlands. Music fans of all ages know this address on Nieuwe Binnenweg road, just outside the Museumkwartier district. It has been an institution in the city's musical history for over a quarter-century.
