At a height of 9 metres, this rooftop park offers spectacular views of the surrounding harbours and high-rise buildings. Measuring 1,200 metres in length and 85 metres in width, it is the largest public roof park in Europe. There is always something to see and do at the Dakpark; you can picnic, barbecue, walk or sunbathe. For children, there is a playground and a waterfall where they can splash around.
There are also several beautiful gardens and vegetable gardens. The sheep of the city shepherd Martin Oosthoek graze in the park. When it is windy, you can retreat to the Warmth Room, a walled garden with Mediterranean plants. All sorts of activities, from yoga to boot camp, take place in the summer, and there is often a kiosk with homemade snacks.
