For a century trains drove across the Hofbogen (Hofplein railway viaduct) between Rotterdam and Scheveningen. This is now history, and since 2010 the longest monumental building in the Netherlands winds through Rotterdam Noord. In the arches under the old railway viaduct, you’ll now find approximately 2 kilometres of design, fashion and food & drinks. Dozens of creative entrepreneurs have settled here. No brand stores and big chains but small speciality shops with unique products, run by real Rotterdammers. In good weather, the bars and restaurants open their sunny terraces. Events on the roof of Hofplein Station and the Italian restaurant Happy Italy in Station Bergweg complete the picture.
