Diergaarde Blijdorp is located in the Blijdorp district of Rotterdam North. Stroll over the African Savannah and come face to face with the giraffes. Visit gorilla Bokito and his family, walk on the seabed in the fully covered Oceanium and meet stingrays and sharks. Stroll through Europe’s largest butterfly paradise: Amazonica, full of fragrant flowers, thousands of South American butterflies, anacondas and biting piranhas.
Guided Tours in Blijdorp Zoo
It is possible to book guided tours and packages. During a tour, an expert guide will show you places on foot, where visitors normally do not go.
Diergaarde Blijdorp is easily accessible both by public transport and by car. The zoo is a 15-minute walk from Rotterdam Central Station. Bus 33 (direction Meijersplein or Rotterdam The Hague Airport) and bus 44 (direction Zuidplein) also go from Central Station to Blijdorp. Still by car? Take exit ‘Blijdorp’ on the A20.
