A visit to the free information center FutureLand not only tells you everything about the development of the port, on Maasvlakte 2 you can see the largest container ships and most modern container terminals with your own eyes! FutureLand is suitable for young and old, harbor enthusiasts and gamers, families and groups. There is always something going on in the interactive environment. Take a VR trip through the new port area or book a cruise through the most modern port in Europe! Experience for yourself what it is like when cranes, ships and ports are big, bigger, biggest. Hop on the Futureland Express and take a special tour through the most modern port area in the world. Or go out on the water and take a cruise with the Futureland Ferry. You don’t get any closer to the largest container ships.
Every Sunday afternoon at 2.15 pm there is a free presentation for individual visitors. Rederij Spido regularly organizes day (sailing) trips to the Second Maasvlakte from Rotterdam.
Given the distance (more than 40 km from the center of Rotterdam), Futureland is best reached by car.
From 11 May to September 2022, the new Hoeksveer will sail from the Berghaven in Hoek van Holland to Futureland. The Berghaven can be reached with metro line B, stop Hoek van Holland Haven. The ferry departs every two hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily. This ‘minicruise’ takes 45 minutes. The last return from Futureland is at 6:00 PM.
