Hoek van Holland Station

Architecture, Hoek van Holland, Metro

Hoek van Holland Haven station was the starting point of many international boat trains. For British travelers, arriving by ferry from Harwich, ‘the Hook’ was the gateway of the continent. From there they took the train to Berlin or the luxurious Rheingold to Switzerland. After World War II the number of international services reached a peak with trains such as the Holland-Scandinavia Express and even the Orient Express.
