Kinderdijk by Waterbus

Kinderdijk, an UNESCO World Heritage Site with 19 windmills dating from the 18th century, is close to Rotterdam. Going to Kinderdijk by Waterbus is quick and takes just 30 minutes. Take line 21 from the stop Erasmus Bridge to Kinderdijk Molenkade. The stop is right in front of the entrance of Kinderdijk.

There are 3 ways to get to Kinderdijk by Waterbus

Route 1 with line 21

A direct boat from Rotterdam Erasmusbrug to Kinderdijk. Look at the timetable for the departure times.

Route 2 with line 20 direction Dordrecht

Travel from Rotterdam as far as Ridderkerk and transfer with the Driehoeksveer (Driehoeks ferry) to Kinderdijk. The total journey takes around 40 minutes. On the Driehoeksveer, you can buy a ticket in cash or bankcard (€ 2,- single trip).

Route 3 with line 20 and bike

Take line 20 as far as Alblasserdam and cycle from there in 15 minutes to the windmills at Kinderdijk.

Public transport chip cards (OV-chipkaart) are valid (RET cards included in the Welcome Card are not). You can also buy a ticket on the boat (no cash) or buy a waterbus E-ticket or Tourist Day Ticket in advance. Bicycles can be taken free of charge on the Waterbus.
