
Kunstinstituut Melly (formely known as The Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art) is an international art institute with Rotterdam as its home base. Established in 1990, Melly is the place to be for everyone who is interested in developments in the world of international contemporary art. It is one of the most important institutes for contemporary art in the Netherlands and is internationally regarded as a pioneer in this field. A progressive platform with room for both up-and-coming and established artists and curators.
Completely new exhibitions composed specifically for the art institution are presented at the Witte de With three times a year. In addition to exhibitions, Witte de With organises readings, screenings and other events. It also publishes books and offers a range of interactive educational resources.
The exhibition area is situated in a historic former school building on the Witte de Withstraat, Rotterdam’s ‘street of culture’. It shares its building with TENT.
Kunstinstituut Melly is located in the Witte de Withkwartier and can be reached by metro and trams 23 or 25, alight at Beurs. It is about a 15- minutes walk from Rotterdam Central Station. There is a car park nearby in the Hartmanstraat.
