Ships of the Holland-America Line used to be built at the Rotterdamsche Droogdok Maatschappij, Rotterdam's most famous shipyard. Such as cruise ship the SS Rotterdam. Now companies, students and researchers at RDM Rotterdam are working together on sustainable technical innovations.
The center of RDM Rotterdam is the former RDM Innovation Dock machine hall, including RDM Makerspace: a place with all the facilities you could wish for as a designer, inventor or maker. From a wood workshop with classic hand tools to 3D printers, laser cutters and other high-tech equipment for digital manufacturing.
