Vermeyden Delicatessen & Wijnen (Food & Wines) has been an institution in Rotterdam since 1908. It’s the place to go for the best in specialty foods, carefully selected by owners Rob and Anja Sies. You can see the tempting delicacies through the windows on Nieuwe Binnenweg before you even get into the shop. The Vermeyden interior is kept plain – minimalist, industrial, steel, concrete and wood – possibly to not distract from the products.
The first thing that greets you when you walk in is the amazing selection of cheese, meats and tapas. These are interspersed with shelves bursting with deluxe coffees, teas, chocolates and nuts. Next you’ll see the stunning selection of wines off to your right. While you’re here, treat yourself to a nice lunch with one of their delicious sourdough sandwiches.
Vermeyden caters for both business and festive events. Since 2008, Vermeyden has proudly carried the distinction of purveyor to the Royal Court.
