Vlaardingen’s Delta Hotel was opened in 1955. A second wing was added in 1978 and the building was further extended in 2002 with a glass construction which stands in the water of the New Maas river (Nieuwe Maas). This extension houses the Netherlands first water-cooled wine cellar. The hotel was renovated in 2014.
Delta Hotel has 78 rooms and six function rooms with views over the New Maas river. Food and drink are taken care of in the Nautique brasserie, the Nautique grand café, the terrace and the Four Compass Points dining rooms. As its name suggests, Nautique is fitted out in a contemporary nautical style just like the rest of the hotel.
The brasserie menu puts the accent on international cuisine inspired by port cities the world over. The atmosphere is contemporary and informal with fine but affordable food. The grand café is open all day for pastries, light lunches and snacks. Groups of up to 20 people are catered for in both restaurants. Larger groups can be accommodated in separate rooms.
Parties can dine in private in the Four Compass Points rooms: North, South, East and West which look out in four directions over the Port of Rotterdam. A maximum of 35 people can dine in the largest of the rooms, Nautique South.
Nautique is close to the major roads to and from Rotterdam but is also easily accessible by water taxi.
