Spido offers boat tours and day trips in Rotterdam the whole year round. Boats leave from the quay next to the Erasmus Bridge.
Spido is one of Rotterdam’s major attractions. It started out in 1931 as a boat transport company but, after the Second World War, it continued as a boat tours firm. Now, it has a fleet of five vessels.
The 75-minute Rotterdam harbour tour gives a short and powerful impression of the Port of Rotterdam container terminals all year round. The route takes in sights including the Hotel New York, the Euromast and the SS Rotterdam. It is also possible to take a day trip to the reclaimed land of the Maasvlakte 2 port extension or to Willemstad. There are also seasonal themed trips such as jazz cruises and afternoon-tea cruises and, in July and August, the summer evening tour and the extended harbour tour, each of which lasts two and a half hours.
The tours detailed above are also available for group bookings for up to 200 people. The standard commentary is given in Dutch and English. Commentary in French or German is available on request.
The Spido booking office is in the Scheepvaartkwartier district five minutes’ walk from Leuvehaven metro station and various tram lines. There is free parking for coaches and a parking garage for cars just outside.
