Belgian trio BLUAI is like a Polaroid filled with nostalgic emotions. Songwriter Catherine Smet captures childhood memories in her lyrics and plays them out in a musical film based on Americana, country pop and indie folk. Although the stories are set in her native Belgium, you are transported with your eyes closed to a ranch in Mississippi, with galloping horses in the background of their music—the soundtrack of a nostalgic coming-of-age film in autumnal colors.
On March 1st, 2024, the group released their debut album ‘Save It For Later’, a sepia-tinted collection of songs with a core message: nostalgic emotions are there to be cherished. BLUAI embarks on a musical road trip through landscapes where Big Thief, Pinegrove, Haim and Alabama Shakes have a residence. With their enchanting sound, they recently won the three most prestigious Belgian music awards: Humo’s Rock Rally, De Nieuwe Lichting and SoundTrack.
