A visit to the free FutureLand information centre not only tells you everything about the development of the port, but on Maasvlakte 2 you can see the largest container ships and modern container terminals with your own eyes! FutureLand is suitable for young and old, port lovers and gamers, families and groups. There is always something going on in the interactive environment. Take a VR trip through the new port area or book a cruise through the most modern port in Europe! Experience the size of these immense cranes, ships and ports for yourself. Hop on the FutureLand Express and take an extraordinary tour of the world’s most modern port area. Or take to the water for a cruise on the FutureLand Ferry. You won’t get any closer to the super-sized container ships.
There is a free presentation for individual visitors every Sunday at 2.15 pm. Shipping company Spido regularly organises day (sailing) trips to Maasvlakte 2 from Rotterdam.
Given the distance (over 40 km from the centre of Rotterdam), Futureland is best reached by car.
From 11 May to September 2022, the new Hoeksveer will sail from Berghaven in Hoek van Holland to Futureland. Berghaven can be reached by metro line B, Hoek van Holland Haven stop. The ferry departs every two hours daily, from 9 am to 5 pm. This ‘mini-cruise’ takes 45 minutes. The last departure from FutureLand is at 6 pm.
