They are world famous for the nineteen windmills of the UNESCO World Heritage Kinderdijk. Crown jewels that are well worth a visit. In the northwestern tip of the low-lying Alblasserwaard near the village of Kinderdijk, the nineteen windmills are located along the overwaard and Nederwaard boezems. Windmills are among the most important Dutch monuments, nowhere else in the world are so many (historical) mills located together.
For a visit, you buy an all-in ticket online in advance for a specific day and arrival time via the website or the app. A reduced rate applies on weekdays.

The Kinderdijk World Heritage Site can be visited all year round. During the high season from March to October (paid) parking is only possible at Marineweg 3 in Alblasserdam, from here shuttle buses run to Kinderdijk. Please note: it is only possible to park here with an entrance ticket for the World Heritage. Book a parking ticket directly with your entrance ticket.
