A real performer on stage and an important name in the Dutch hip-hop scene: you know him as Sticks (or Sticky Steez or Stickert)! Also known from former rap group Opgezwolle and the Fakkelbrigade, Sticks is one of the most relevant and influential artists in the Netherlands. On Thursday 11 May Sticks will be in BIRD.
He no longer needs an introduction among Dutch hip-hop listeners. Sticks has been active in the scene for more than 2 decades and has not been idle in the past year: in 2022 he released songs with names such as Zwangere Guy and D-Double and released his sixth album Alles Over Hoop this year. With classic boombap beats like ‘ No Time Wasting ‘ and chill R&B vibe track like ‘ Gebouw ‘, Sticks is clearly at home in all markets and surprises the listener with his sound. Not only is his album versatile in terms of style, Sticks also has a different number of big names as collaborators on the album, such as Karsu, Zwangere Guy and Sevn Alias.
