About the New Institute
Visit the Nieuwe Instituut in Rotterdam, the national museum for architecture, design and digital culture. Discover the exhibitions, visit the bookstore, drink coffee on the sunny terrace and experience the seasons in the wild garden. Here you will find everything about design, architecture, digital culture and fashion. The Nieuwe Instituut also manages the National Collection for Dutch architecture and urban development, one of the largest in the world, with no less than 1.4 million drawings, 300,000 photos and 2,500 models.
Experience a varied program every week, from book presentations to Research Nights. For families and children there are special routes with assignments.
Also visit Huis Sonneveld, the unique museum house from 1933. The Nieuwe Instituut and Huis Sonneveld are within walking distance of Central Station in Rotterdam’s Museum Park.
Accessibility
Het Nieuwe Instituut is easily accessible by public transport with the metro and tram 4, 7, 8, 20, 23, 25 (stop Eendrachtsplein). From Rotterdam Central Station it is approximately a 15-minute walk. Opposite the building is the Museumpark parking garage.
