Many traces of the Second World War can still be found along the Dutch coast. The many bunkers, built as part of the coastal defence and fortification, the Atlantic Wall, are perhaps the most remarkable. These fascinating concrete colossuses are normally closed for the public but once a year various bunkers from Zeeland up to the Wadden Islands will be open during Bunker Day!
Beside the bunkers, there will be a lot of activities for young and old to reflect on consequences of the Atlantic Wall. Beautiful walks, exclusive guided tours, impressive film screenings, cool historic vehicles, a floating shuttle service over a tank moat and many fun children’s activities.
