Floodlights is raw and intimate, interwoven with powerful bursts and marching rhythms. Their unique blend of indie, good old rock ‘n roll, post-punk and garage, places evocative lyrics to the fore, with rebellion as one of their defining characteristics. Since the beginning of their short career, Floodlights have explored themes of personal turmoil, national identity and the Australian landscape as a form of escapism.
Their second album, Painting of My Time, released in April 2023, marked the next step for the band. They continue to explore these themes while showcasing their sonic progression, which translates into a compelling album and a highly dynamic live show. Floodlights tour extensively and have shared the stage with bands such as Amyl and The Sniffers and Arctic Monkeys. In 2023, they supported Pavement and Black Midi on their Australian tours and made an appearance at SXSW in Texas, USA.
