GOED/FOUT

1 December 2023 till 15 September 2024

The exhibition “GOOD/WRONG” takes you to post-war Netherlands. The basic principle of post-war government policy was that war victims (and their relatives) had to get back what had been taken from them. And the enemy had to pay for it. The Netherlands Management Institute (NBI) was established for this purpose.

The exhibition focuses on the stories of three groups of people who came into contact with the NBI: enemy subjects, traitors and absentees. Stories reconstructed from the NBI management files (and where possible from conversations with relatives). Stories that touch you, amaze you and in any case stay with you.

The exhibition highlights a part of post-war history that has long been underexposed. Reflection on who or what was right or wrong during the occupation years runs like a common thread through the exhibition.
