Oddisee’s sold-out concert in 2017 was arguably one of BIRD’s best hip-hop concerts ever. With his smooth raps and jazzy productions, this independent artist (he is a producer, beatmaker, booker, photographer and marketer) has been at the top of the underground for years. Together with his 5-piece band, Good Compny, the mc will make his comeback in Rotterdam on Sunday 30 April.
Amir Mohamed, better known as Oddisee, grew up surrounded by the sounds of New York hip-hop, go-go, and gospel. He took his first musical steps as a mc/producer in the basement of his neighbor (and legendary Parliament Funkadelic member) Garry Shider. Better an extremely talented neighbor than a distant friend… After the age of 21, his career took off. He dropped well-received album after well-received album and went on to collaborate with The Roots, Jazzy Jeff, Flying Lotus, De La Soul and Hudson Mohawke.
