Surprise Chef’s music is the kind of music that creates an instant atmosphere when you turn it on. On Saturday 27 May, the band will be on stage in BIRD with five members, a load of instruments and good vibes!
Surprise Chef is from Melbourne, Australia. The quintet’s signature sound draws from 1970s film scores, the funkier side of jazz, and samples that are the foundation of hip-hop. With their own approach, the band pushes the boundaries within instrumental soul and funk. Their first two albums All News Is Good News and Daylight Savings generated a die-hard fan base: the sound they made from their home studio suddenly flew to all corners of the world. The band is now signed to Big Crown Records , a New York label and has also already released their first single of 2023, ‘Pash Rash’.
