With all its museums and art institutions, Rotterdam is the second art city in the Netherlands, it is logical that there was an art fair in 2000: Art Rotterdam. As a counterpart, Object Rotterdam was established in 2009. These fairs and other art institutions in Rotterdam are not competitors, but complement each other precisely. That is why it was decided in 2013 to join forces under the name Rotterdam Art Week and to immerse the city for a week in art.
